Most of Moriyama work is in black and white, but there are a few photographs in color. Sharing one below… the exhibition is absolutely great.

Great hike yesterday in this amazing larch forest. Autumn is there definitely. Deers hide away as I walk deeper in the woods. Above my head crested tits feed in the trees.

There are so many books that changed the way I feel, think or act over the past 40 years, as if each of them fed me, shaped my thoughts, my dreams and soul. When I close my eyes I see a cosy living room, with walls covered by book shelves… This is what’s inside me. Picking just a few, the most transformative ones, is hard. Let me have a try… 1. L’usage du Monde (the Way of the World) - Nicolas Bouvier 2. Dune - Frank Herbert 3. Les cavaliers (The Horsemen)- Joseph Kessel 4. On the Road - Jack Kerouac Those four infused my 20s, instilling a love for travels and a fascination for deserts, mountains, dusty roads and nights under the stars…

Mayapura, from Christian Charrière, is one of those books that profoundly shaped my imagination. 30 years have passed, but I still remember it… 🏝️ ⛵️ 🌊 John Sutterton, born in Ireland, embarks on a quest to find Mayapura—a mysterious town on the edge of a lagoon in East Java, said to be adorned with emerald temples in decay. First explored in the 15th century by the Venetian traveler Niccolò Conti, Mayapura was never seen again. Now, with sails fully unfurled, grand ships cut through the waters of the Celebes Sea in search of the legendary city and the ancient wisdom it holds. But does Mayapura truly exist? Or is it perhaps the capital of a parallel world, a place John Sutterton senses beneath his very feet, eluding his grasp? This parallel world, with its absent life and distant places, hints at the book's romantic nature—a journey both adventurous and spiritual, yet tinged with nostalgia for the land of Princes, that other side of reality from which we, the exiled, eternally lament.

Wow 😵‍💫 at least you have Apps and WhatsApp groups 😆 Here is the situation for mid term school where I live 1. School informs you there is an on-line platform for homework and dates of exams 2. Headmaster tells you that he uses the platform, but other teachers may not 3. Your kid comes back home after 2 weeks at school and says the Geography and Math teachers writes homework and important dates on the blackboard 4. You find out that there is a third source of information which is the in-classroom paper agenda 5. Kids create a WhatsApp group to share responses to home exercise 6. You have to phone the school’s secretariat to get the number of each and individual teacher, so that your are able to find out what the homework is for next week 🤯

I can hardly explain how I feel when I get above 2000 m, when I reach the top of a peak after hours of climbing and sweating. Surrounded by eternal snows, hostile rocks and glaciers, I feel humble, grateful to be alive, and amazed by the majesty of the landscape. A deep sense of calm and joy, that I find nowhere else

/lifeisgood Joy is a deep, abiding sense of happiness and contentment that arises from within. Unlike fleeting pleasure or excitement, joy is often rooted in a sense of peace, gratitude, and connection to others or to something greater than oneself. It can be sparked by small, everyday moments—a smile, a kind word, a beautiful sunset—but it also exists as a more profound state of being, where one feels aligned with their values, purpose, and the world around them. Joy is resilient; it can persist even in the face of challenges, offering a sense of lightness and hope.
