everyone dancing on the grave of humane, but idk. i feel most of the issues in the review could disappear with a new generation of models. or even better balancing of local vs remote. the overheating is the more concerning thing imo. might be cope tho (i preordered one 😅)

have been watching the reviews etc with a lot of interest and it’s sad to see rn and some feel more like an attack. still so much potential in my eyes but I've to say I'm personally rooting for rabbit r1. overall we are so early in this field of ai gadgets.

My main gripe with them is they’re trying to build “the next Apple” and another walled garden rather than embracing primitives we already use today (phones, watches) It’s so silly that the device has a whole separate number and data plan, people are always going to have their phones on them, why not use them?

my gripe is that it could (and should imo) have been an iphone app. the chat gpt app is nice but there’s a huge opportunity for something better, and i was hoping they would have leaned into that direction as opposed to ship something that is obv not ready for prime time.

First releases of hardware are usually really bad. They should've limited the first release to friends and investors though.

not super keen on dunking on them, hardware shipping at a large scale must freaking suck if this sort of thing happens and your supply-chain is already loaded on materials + inventory that's a WIP
