The under appreciated thing about the DAO hack is that it was kind enough to give everyone a 30 day grace period to discuss how to handle it at length. Kind of wild how convenient it was as a learning experience. (Not sure the lesson sank in though). With a straight up wallet theft, the funds start circulating, exchanging and mixing immediately, there’s just no way you could simply “roll it back”, even if there was unanimous agreement. https://x.com/CryptoHayes/status/1893070933482737805

Forget where I heard this, but apparently now that they are actually protecting their data, the flywheel is: 1. Google needs data 2. Reddit is the best at generating it 3. So google send them traffic 4. Google buys their data

Yes, I did use it on this new machine. TBH I didn't think it mattered how after the initial install, but apparently determinate continues to manager my nix installation? Anyways, I reinstalled determinate, and that seems to have fixed it.
