1. I made this bid on a whim too late at night. TBH I'm kind of relieved to have my 400 bucks back. 

2. My biggest misgiving about this DAO is that it's almost irrecoverably tribal. It's the spiteful child of @farcasteradmin.eth's rage quit, and so unavoidable defined more by what it's not that what it is.

Purple is a DAO whose goal is to proliferate and expand the Farcaster protocol and ecosystem.

4. For the 18 hours or so that I thought I was going to end up winning the auction, I did start to think about how I might be able to help make the @purpler actually interesting. I was going to lean into it dammit.

5. As of now though I'll be happy to just observe and comment.

6. I should give @purpler some credit for the retroactive funding model, that is solid, and it should be front and center.

7. When @purpler gets interesting images that change from day to day, then I'll start bidding again. Maybe I'm being a stickler, but it really is a deal breaker for me.

3. Even just taking the same schtick of @purple and simply adding a plus is pretty awkward IMO. Imagine having to explain this weird beef to new casters a couple months from now.

So, the thread wasn't carefully planned out, and I shouldn't have buried point 6 so deeply.  Retro funding is a big improvement.

it's not a dao for fun, it's a dao to retroactively predictably fund developers in the ecosystem without any bs layers like governance

buy tokens, vote what projects get funded

it isn't about @purple vs @purpler but about @purple *and* @purpler on the same platform trying to improve it

Not really trying to paint a villain… and definitely not intended as ad hominem (not my style). 

I’m just worried about a weird tribal vibe I think you might genuinely have not considered.

guys I know we all love a villain but:

1. Both @farcasteradmin.eth and I founded @purpler; two users who don’t often agree but both wanted to try a new way to support Farcaster.

2. even if boro was a bit spicy and hostile (not my style), it isn’t tribal so please don’t make it into us vs them. the more the merrier :)
