To help celebrate onchain summer, we decided to take our most popular blog (How to Mint an NFT on Base) and build an app around it. You can use this to deploy your own contract and mint NFTs on Base easily. Happy minting! https://based-origami.xyz

Like it or not, memecoins are a thing and similar to NFTs, they rely heavily on images. The application of memecoin images are different from NFTs, but they still benefit heavily from IPFS. So I wrote a guide on using IPFS with memecoins. https://www.pinata.cloud/blog/how-to-use-ipfs-for-memecoins

We're excited to announce what feels like such an obvious partnership to us. Pinata is now working with @neynar to help handle our Farcaster APIs and infrastructure! They'll also be helping Farcaster devs get onboarded to IPFS through us. Read more here: https://www.pinata.cloud/blog/pinata-partners-with-neynar

The @pinata team is experimenting with a fun new way to tip and they've included HAM! Using the MemeMachine you can upload your favorite meme, create a frame, and drop the frame link on a cast to tip 🍖 Give it a try! https://mememachinery.com/

This is a project I first started thinking about more than 2 years ago. We finally prioritized it recently and got it across the finish line. We are the first and only IPFS provider to give you this level of detail and analytics into how your gateway is being used. https://www.pinata.cloud/blog/introducing-analytics

Introducing the freshest feature on the block: the Cast Generator! it lets you effortlessly create your own "reaction" action casts—think 'likes', 'thumbs up', and 'LOLs', all without writing a single line of code. Give it a try and share your thoughts on what we should add next. https://actions.pinatadrops.com/

Weird day for a big (REAL) announcement, but we ship no matter the day. Announcing Pinata's new Farcaster Auth service. This makes it easy for developers to build auth into their apps. We're supporting two flows, Managed and Sponsored. Learn more here: https://www.pinata.cloud/blog/introducing-farcaster-auth

The gotchas depend a bit on your specific use case, but the main thing I would mention is that design requires a bit more design thinking up front as tables are essentially append only and you can’t modify things like indexes or constraints after table creation. Happy to chat further if you have deeper questions

Like a lot of modern DBs, operational experience needed kind of depends on whether you buy vs build out your stack. You can run clickhouse yourself, but there’s also a lot of “out of the box” cloud-hosted tooling saas options that are fairly easy to pick up

We ended up choosing a clickhouse based system for our time series needs. Both data ingestion speed and query performance are freakishly good. We also liked the “SQL-like” query language.

A couple of weeks ago, we built Swooop, a native iOS Farcaster client written in Swift. Here’s a tutorial I wrote on how to build your own Swift Farcaster client. Enjoy! https://www.pinata.cloud/blog/how-to-build-a-native-farcaster-ios-client-in-swiftui
