I agree, but I think there’s a lot of companies, especially in web3, with lots of funding(execution potential) and not many ideas

There's truth in this but the way I think about it is the idea itself is less valuable than the execution of that idea.

Building in public is you asserting that not only do you have a good idea - but you are in the best position to build it.

Plus - it creates healthy competition and challenges you to execute better.

I found myself in a similar situation a few years ago. Adapted, shut off public access to what I was originally building in public, then only started a trickle of information until closer to launch, building up to the full reveal when it was too far, too late for someone to play a catch up game.
