Hyperliquid shows that if product great no one cares about open source or decentralization.

As someone not trading much at all, I never ended up trying 😅

it’s a very good product, like a CEX but onchain. and their chain is just as decentralized as L2s like Base, which is to say “not very” haha

all of the big L2s are larps when it comes to decentralization, they are big tech corps using “DAO” as an obfuscatory trenchcoat. hopefully that improves over time.

at least HL gave their users a good chunk of the tokens (40% iirc), whereas ARB OP etc. were just an EL event for their investors. and their respective price action tells a similar story.

At least for L2s there's a vitalik threatening he won't tweet about them if they're not stage 1.

For hyperliquid there isn't. But also it probably doesn't matter. It's interesting how they ate dydx's lead.
