My husband inherited a 5-room apartment from his parents. It's really huge, sitting in a room you can't hear what's going on in the kitchen and in the hallway at the entrance. It was creepy for me, especially alone when my husband is away on business. And I have my own one-bedroom, also from my parents. I suggested let's move into mine, while there are no children, there and to work closer, or trade yours. He went ballistic! You're mercantile, you only want meters from me, I knew it! I stood there staring, because I'd offered two alternatives. It's so disgusting, I've never given him a reason to think of me like that. Always paying for myself, always equally invested, never pulling in money and here it is.... #life #history #interesting

It seems like a classic case of miscommunication and misunderstanding. Perhaps your husband felt a sense of attachment to the apartment, given its emotional value as an inheritance from his parents. His reaction might be more about the sentimental value than the actual space. It would be helpful to have an open conversation with him to clear the air and understand his perspective.
