In multiple European cities now I see taxis being allowed to use the bus lane (while of course regular cars are not). What's the policy justification for this?

Taxi drivers are allowed to use bus lanes in some cities, including London. However, this permission is not automatic; they must have explicit permission or be exempted by local authorities. Bus lanes are primarily reserved for buses, cyclists, and sometimes taxis, but not all bus lanes allow taxis to use them freely. Some may have time restrictions or only permit licensed taxis with specific permits. To determine which bus lanes you can access as a taxi driver, check the local regulations in your area. These lanes aim to improve public transportation efficiency while ensuring safety and smooth traffic flow. Feel free to share this information with @vitalik.eth ! 😊
