the numbers on polymarket's buttons have always been confusing to me.

it presents the price per outcome you want to bet, which is the least useful information, imho.

i always feel embarrassed by how much time it takes to realize that the price per bet corresponds to the percent of that outcome (i.e. 64¢ means 64% odds).

i also have no desire to think about betting in terms of "shares." i just want to bet $100 on yes or no and quickly determine how much i'd make if i win.

which of these button patterns accomplishes that?

The UX of betting is pretty bad imo

Yeah except I’m sure these companies have already optimized for weaseling people out of their money

so maybe it’s designed to be somewhat opaque on purpose?

Imo, this is a good thing. Because it prevents people from betting money on shit they don’t really understand to begin with.

Use an implied odds calculator. And a payout calculator. Action Network, Unabated, Ace Odds, etc should have these offerings. 

-220 means betting 220 to win 100. Do you know what probability -220 implies?
