In a nutshell: Ethereum is deploying its massive Pectra update.
Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) has stepped up its game with its biggest update since "The Merge."
Around 6:05 a.m. ET yesterday, they activated Pectra on the mainnet, right at epoch 364032. This update is packed: it includes 11 improvements (EIPs) that touch on everything from staking and rollups to the user experience. Basically, they've fine-tuned the engine inside and out.Among the highlights is EIP-7702, which allows wallets to act like smart contracts during a transaction. The result? You can perform multiple operations at once, like a McDonald's combo meal, and someone else can even pay your fees. Yes, you could even operate without holding any ETH!They're also raising the stake limit per validator from 32 to 2,048 ETH (EIP-7251), which makes life easier for large validators... though be aware, as some fear increased centralization. 0 reply
