Today I bring you a new edition of Slowcore Nerd Notes. I inquire into slowcore ways of valuing attention, and explore the design space for Farcaster channels as "slowcore rooms." Zora excerpt coming soon. https://paragraph.xyz/@danicaswanson/slowcore-nerd-notes-on-the-value-of-attention?referrer=danicaswanson.eth

Slowcore fits well with an acronym I heard from an indie writer: WIBBOW The wibbow test is simple: would i be better off writing. In most cases the answer I get is "yes". 200 $degen

That sounds like a useful acronym to keep handy in my toolbox. Thank you. The answer would usually be "yes" for me too. But it gets more complicated when I take into account that my best ideas often show up when I'm doing something that would not look like writing to an outside observer: walking, house cleaning, etc.

Sorry, I should've clarified. It's wibbow versus dosing on Reddit, YouTube, even Warpcast. I now need to take my own medicine!

Makes sense. It's tempting to exceed the capacity of one's optimal "attentional ecology" even on Warpcast. But I also think there's something fundamentally different happening on FC. I wouldn't have written this piece at all if I weren't immersed in FC culture. So that complicates things too.
