One of the best things my parents did for me was not teach me about sexism. I didn’t grow up hearing the odds were stacked against me—I grew up hearing that hard work and tenacity win. I was 20 (!!) before I even learned the gender wage gap existed. Until then, I walked into every room, every interview, completely unaware I was ‘disadvantaged.’ Would I have pursued finance or tech if I’d grown up expecting bias? No idea. But ignorance made me fearless

this is amazing! sometimes we unintentionally reinforce stereotypes by talking about them so much and make people afraid to go into a certain career
