While the accident actually happened 3 days earlier?

Curious cause I almost wrote about it today as well for my /history cast but thought it actually happened a few days prior.

The actual date is probably splitting hairs at this point. Was just curious if my little bit of research was off.

Not sure which newspaper article you’re referring to. Project Mogul launched its surveillance balloons four days prior to the discovery of the Roswell “crash site”, after which the flying saucer theory provided as convenient a cover story as any for what was actually a sensitive military ops to monitor the Soviets.
