Has anyone been reading up on EigenLayer? I want to be optimistic but it feels like a mistake given the current state of crypto with regulators. Any thoughts?

You know what that sounds like to me? Removal of responsibility for the outcome of what they released into the wild.

They are probably trying to get to fully decentralized as quickly as possible as a result.

I’m not following your logic. The people that should be protected are the “investors” who are staking their funds. But also all Ethereum users because shared financial resources would reduce the overall security, I assume.

I’m not familiar with their product but if the product is deeply technical to use then I don’t see why someone needs to be protected. I can’t go deep sea diving and take a shark cage. I’d personally prefer the risk remain discoverable than assume we have all the knowns, at the edges anyway

From what I can tell, the use case that makes sense to me is to bootstrap your own POS network. A single Ethereum validator can validate transactions on multiple blockchains and use they ETH they staked as collateral for all of them. If they are validating Ethereum and XYZ, both would be able to slash the 32 ETH

I still don’t understand the problem they’re solving
