Phidias was an ancient Greek sculptor. He is considered the best sculptor of the ancient style. He designed the exhibition of Athena on the Acropolis of Athens and the massive statue of Zeus at Olympia in the 5th century BC. It seems that his Athenian works were made by order of Pericles.
