Every media site (WSJ, NYT, Bloomberg etc.) should have some kind of a 0-100 trust score that tells you how many fake reports they made and it should be visible in your browser so you can check their reputation. It's insane the world spends more energy rating Uber drivers than media outlets.

I know that's their strategy but when we look at the most popular YouTubers and podcasters, they get into much more nuance than the mainstream media. So maybe there's another way but betting on outrage is just the easiest thing to do

I think if there was a truly credibly neutral rating system, it would show independent media is on par with msm, at best. Ex: I would bet the farm Rogan is a worse source of info than NPR, BBC, AP.
