Farcaster is one of the more successful projects to leverage ENS. Instead of critiquing how "ENS-aligned" FC is, perhaps it would be better for the ENS team to reflect on the limitations of ENS that Farcaster had to overcome.

Crypto users have the 'I want to send someone money but I don't want to type in the address' problem. 

It's currently solved by ENS but could be solved by Farcaster. 

Even if FC pays some $ for each subdomain, it will be much less than all users paying for vanilla ENS domains.

So it could be seen as a threat.

That being said, I think long-term ENS would need to adapt and treat Farcasters of this world as resellers of a cheaper version of their domains.

I dont think that user number 1,000,000,000 will buy his domain via the ENS app.

ENS vs. Farcaster feels like Web3’s version of iMessage vs. SMS. Free wins in the long run.
