I really like the idea of charity coins. One risk that I immediately thought about: "Wouldn't memecoins do charitywashing by giving these institutions 5% of supply and then using it as an eternal pardon to do bad things just like some bad apples among effective altruists do?"

Had the same thought when I wrote this. The “doing it for the public good”- & buzzword-marketing needs to stop. Too many projects use good intentions, fancy words (donations, altruism, Ai), future value-add to cover shit today, incl predatory token economics & cashouts. https://warpcast.com/juli/0xadeabd42

I really like the idea of charity coins as well, so much so that I started building @glodollar - the stablecoin that funds charities and public goods as decided by its holders 👀 https://glodollar.org/ for more

One project that I have followed from the start is Pawthereum. Since 2021 the doxxed volunteer team has donated $480,000 to animal shelters worldwide. Has a strong community that voted to a Base migration and that’ll happen in just a couple weeks. They are onboarding nonprofits as well to the crypto space.
