Good read. My general rule of thumb for cultivating more independent thinking is the practice  of "giving the devil his due", aka objectively considering an opposing position or argument as if it may have some merit (and in many cases it does)

I'm drafting on an essay coming from the other side, trying to explain "Narratives": in many ways, that's the fabric that weaves the connection between separate concepts into a memeplex. I've been noticing so much "narrative hopping" lately, I think it's related to our exhaustion of social media.

If you're following American politics, it'd help you (and your Polymarket bets) a lot if you deeply study other countries' politics.

None of this is new. Outrageous Greenland / Canada / Panama comments? Maduro, Erdogan, even Kim Jong Un does this. And no, I'm not arguing about the Mad Man Theory.

Trump is successfully moving the Overton Window (narrative, meme, w/e you call it). Soon, his other foreign policy actions won't seem that stupid and unethical anymore.

This is the story I've been trying to tell here pre and post election.

Narrative (you might call it "meme") is everything. Without narratives, you can't truly win power.

Gen Z is much smarter and better at explaining than me (also TikTok is based).

Few people remember that eg Obama had a pretty complicated story with same sex marriages. But back then Democrat memeplex meant a different thing than in 2025.
