Did you know that the NSA allegedly installed a backdoor into banking software in the 1980s that allowed it to passively monitor fund flows on SWIFT?? They did this through stolen software which was then also sold to drug traffickers, allowing said traffickers to launder drug money directly through the banking system

The illegally stolen software was from a company called INSLAW, which had actually created legal tech software for tracking cases through the system. The NSA allegedly stole this software, repurposed it for banking, and then had it installed across banking institutions.

SWIFT was implemented in 1973 and is still the industry standard software/ protocol for banks. 👎

You know what's hilarious about this? When mf global blew up in 2010 or 2011, they stole all their customers money from segregated accounts and wired it to JPM. They then claimed it just vaporized. JPM was never forced to return the stolen money and claimed it couldn't be tracked. But they have been able to track your credit and debit cards since the 90s.
