When I thought my Colombian project was destined for failure, the city, in its mysterious way, opened an unexpected door. After turning my back on the paper project, tainted by the greed of small minds, I found myself adrift, searching for a new direction. A photograph I'd taken of artwork on a wall led me through Google's winding paths, not to its creator but to something far more precious: a printing workshop and gallery that had quietly nurtured art for half a century, mere streets from where I lived.

A warm woman welcomed me and my dog into what would be a sanctuary of creation. The house revealed itself like a living thing its spaces flowing with light and purpose, each room a chapter in an ongoing story of art. The air seemed charged with creative memory as Sonia guided us through chambers filled with prints, metals, and etchings.

Then came the moment that changed everything. Among the collected works, a green book caught my eye, its presence both humble and commanding: 'En Este Pueblo No Hay Ladrones’ by Gabriel García Márquez. Sonia, reading my fascination, lifted it with careful hands and laid it before me. The French paper breathed beneath my fingers as she turned the pages, revealing eight exquisite etchings that brought Gabo's characters to life. There was a treasure, signed by Márquez and the Saturnno Ramirez, that spoke of the magic this place had witnessed.

The workshop had hosted countless great artists like the Argentinean poet  León Ferrari (1920-2013) with his bold works gracing the walls of that art sanctuary, and many more artists from distant corners of the world had left their mark, each adding their voices to this chorus of creation. Standing there, surrounded by decades of artistic legacy, I knew I had found my place. Whether my work ever graces gallery walls or remains a private joy, I will be part of this lineage, another story woven into the fabric of this extraordinary space where art breathes and dreams take form.
