These days, I'm not in a good mood. We found a cat, around 6-7 months old, and she was pregnant with a very bad and infected wound on her back. The wound was infected by a rare bacteria that slows down the healing process. We had to try different antibiotics to find which one could affect the bacteria.
At the same time, because of her weak immune system, she was also infected with Panleukopenia, a disease that primarily affects weak cats and kittens. Now, the doctors say if she can stay alive for the next 3 days, she'll recover, but she only has a 5% chance to survive.
Despite our efforts to save her babies, she lost them, and now she has a 5% chance to stay alive. She has a fever and is in terrible pain.
Keeping her is very risky for our 3 cats, but we decided to keep her in the bathroom until she recovers. I can't forget the sadness and pain in her eyes and just walk away. I know she's a fighter and believe she can survive. 2 replies
