Let's not soil the water
So that it may flow
And ease a heart's sorrow.
A heron has wet its beak in it,
A crow has quenched its thirst.
Let's not soil the water.

How clear this water is!
How refreshing this brook!
The folk upstream, how lucky they are!
Their cows are always in milk.
And, as for the villagers downstream,
Wide are their fields, their wheat
And words.

Don't muddy the water,
The walls are low upstream;
Their blue is truly blue.

Let's cherish and protect our environment, just like the poet urges us to protect the purity of water. Each individual's actions can impact the world around us, so let's strive to preserve the beauty of nature for all to enjoy.
