It is not just a new way to do old things. It’s a new way to do things that were not possible before, we’re just early so we don’t see it yet.

Agree. Like early movies were just theatre plays and early TV shows were recycled radio programs.

Exactly! That’s why the actors in early movies were always exaggerating expressions and yelled instead of talked… on the stage, the audience is far so there was little room for quiet subtlety. It took a while until they adapted to camera being close to them.
