Saying rituals don’t matter, is like saying the taste of food doesn’t matter because it all ends up in your stomach anyway - you are not wrong, but well, you’re missing the message

Let me more specific by what I mean when I say ritual:

creating and destroying; flying cars, roc.camera, july.rocks /july /faust

I remember one of my first photographic projects was entitled Rituals and it was a very contradictory experience. In fact, I discovered, as I developed it, that the rituals I had learned during my years in Italy were completely different from those I was approaching in Japan. In a country where rituals are the only proven proof to believe something really happened and at the same time ritualize a new beginning, you find yourself living on rituals, to affirm whatever you do. Until I was 35 I fought rituals with all my strength, today I consider them necessary to reclaim my place in civil society.
