I think there’s real value in self care as a way to soothe oneself. Just as a parent would console a child with a cup of warm chocolate milk.

But to me, a lot of ‘selfcare’ screams: I am trying so hard to gain back control and won’t face what’s going on inside 🥺 I am all too familiar with this habit.
