peak creativity often comes from large, unstructured blocks of free time

reading, writing, having conversations, building something, walking, exploring fc, etc

it looks unproductive at the time, but i personally find it leads to the most meaningful breakthroughs that we couldn't have anticipated 🌱

These blocks of time aren't common practice in our always busy and over-scheduled American culture. Do you find ways to incorporate enough of these unstructured blocks of time into your days, weeks or your year? 

If so, how? If not, why?

I actually find that times where I’m under limitations or boundaries but still expected to create or improvise, that I tend to be quicker to explore my own creativity. It’s like the inner me just doesn’t want the limits so I’m more apt to find new ways to flourish in that space.

Haha for me I know I WILL always shift them if I can😅 but then there’s that special time when I can’t put it off and I start churning stuff out, the other time is basically prep and leisure even when working

deadlines are magic. I can't make up my own deadlines though (because I know I can always shift them), has to be external

I’ve found I procrastinate sometimes to open the doorway to an epic flow state. 

If boredom is too high to enter flow, my subconscious puppets my mind around just long enough until the impending deadline manufactures enough anxiety to enter into the channel.
