Hey @jacek, I'm curious regarding the recent update to dune query. It seems likes are now tied to the day a cast was made, not when the like was given. Does that mean future reactions can affect past allowances? Just double-checking if this is intentional or if there might be a glitch. cc @rjs @wake

Hope this is a glitch. If I cast a minute before the new day all reactions will be affected to the previous day? And if a cast received a ton of reactions days after cast date, that would also affect a reduction of the allowance of all the other users, risking that all the users over tip. @jacek

Yeah, totally! My cast is actually great illustrative example: made it half an hour before midnight UTC, got 8 likes the same day, the majority came the next day. I should’ve stayed up another half hour to cast later 😂

I'm confused... Think I need to reread the query again to understand why you say this 🤔

In rare cases, allowance can change retroactively. For example, I made my cast within the last hour of May 2nd and received 8 likes on the same day. Now, if May 2nd turns out to be the median among the past eight days, then allowance for May 3rd will continue to increase as I get more likes through the following days.

Statistically seen this will happen to about 12.5% of users on any given day, and the increase will be bounded by the next-higher median, ie less than standard deviation, so my guess would be the daily sum will usually fluctuate by a few percent only, which is well within the 50% tolerance interval. cc @jacek @wake

Confused again... 😅 In my experiment I moved 45 likes from day 1 to day 2 and it altered median reactions at the 20th, 30th and 50th percentiles
