Lettuce is a common source of food poisoning. Buy whole lettuce heads and remove the outer leaves at home to lower food poisoning risk. The outer leaves are most prone to bacterial contamination, as are bruised/discolored ones. Discard both. Be sure to wash thoroughly too!

The Western diet contains trans fats; low-fiber carbs including fried foods, soft drinks, and foods with high fructose corn syrup. It also has food additives like aspartame, and natural flavors and high in sodium and sugar. Choose smarter!

if there's one thing that upsets me, it's stories like this: Nearly 25,000 cases of Martinelli's Gold Medal Apple Juice have been recalled due to elevated levels of inorganic arsenic. The affected lot was sold in 1-liter glass bottles across 34 states and in Puerto Rico and Panama.
