Back in 2010, a programmer named Laszlo Hanyecz made history by making the first real-world transaction using Bitcoin. He offered 10,000 Bitcoins to anyone who would order him two pizzas. A fellow Bitcoin enthusiast took up the offer, and Laszlo received his pizzas. At the time, those 10,000 Bitcoins were worth about $41. Fast forward to today, and those same Bitcoins would be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. This story is often recounted in crypto circles to highlight the unpredictable and explosive growth of cryptocurrencies. What was once just a quirky internet experiment has become a financial phenomenon, forever changing the way we think about money and transactions.
