Even with this decrease in fees, over 200,000 unconfirmed transactions have persisted in the backlog, as the queue has not come close to clearing since October 2023. Bitcoin’s Fee Market Struggles to Match Network’s Rising Demand This week, transaction fees on the Bitcoin network have remained low, currently averaging 22.3 satoshis per virtual byte (sats/vB), or $2.67 per transaction. According to mempool.space on June 27, a high-priority transfer costs approximately 10 sats/vB, or about $0.86 per transaction. Fees have generally trended downward since April, although there was a brief increase in the fee market on June 7.

Ethereum LSD solution Puffer Finance moves to base rollups after raising $18M The protocol is currently focused on bridging the liquidity gaps between different Ethereum layer-solutions. Puffer Finance, a liquid staking derivatives (LSD) project built on Ethereum restaking protocol Eigenlayer, will partner with the Ethereum Foundation to jointly develop base rollups after previously securing an $18 million Series A funding round to launch its mainnet. Rollups are scaling solutions that reduce the burden of layer-one blockchains by processing transactions off-chain and then bundling one finalized transaction to the base layer. Coinbase decides not to support ASI token migration amid AI protocol merger Coinbase has decided against facilitating the upcoming migration of SingularityNet, Fetch.ai and Ocean Protocol AI tokens to the new Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI) cryptocurrency. The ASI token merger involves SingularityNET, Fetch.ai, and Ocean Protocol implementing a two-phase migration process starting on July 1. This process will first see a migration of SingularityNET's AGIX and Ocean Protocol's OCEAN tokens into Fetch.ai's FET, followed by transitioning the resultant combined FET tokens into the new Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI) cryptocurrency later in the month.

VanEck files for Solana ETF in the US, claiming SOL is a commodity Fund manager VanEck filed for an exchange-traded fund that would track the price of Solana "I am excited to announce that VanEck just filed for the FIRST Solana exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the US," said Matthew Sigel, head of digital assets research at VanEck said in a post on X on Thursday. This comes after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has approved spot ETFs for both Bitcoin and Ethereum. The agency approved 19b-4 forms for spot Ethereum ETFs last month and still need to greenlight registration statements in order for those to begin trading, though some analysts believe that could be as soon as next week.
