I unfollowed all the huge channels, they don't make sense to me anymore. People should just broadcast into the Main feed and have more thoughtful discussions in channels.

In most cases, I agree with this.

General topic channels don't work well in the new model. They were built an era of channels as hashtags.

There will be some exceptions, but will require a lot of work from the channel owner and moderators to make sure a large channel becomes and stays a community.

Screens

I think it remains to be seen what these large channels will be used for. My gut tells me they still have value, the community will just function completely differently than a “cozy corner”.

This is where I think some experimental permissionless systems could be used to create interesting content.

Off-the-dome example: imagine /screens being used to understand the top picks from Farcasters on a weekly/monthly/seasonal basis.  Instead of a cozy corner it turns into a wisdom-of-crowds generator.
