Reddit comments are really interesting under this milquetoast article about why Canada isn't experiencing an egg shortage while the US is. TL;DR: - Supply management policies lead to smaller farms and a more fluid egg market within Canada - Stronger biosecurity requirement (ex. changing boots between barns, which is considered too expensive in the US)

Gotta love it when supply chain consolidation comes back to bite us in the ass. What are we building for again? Oh yeah, removing single points of failure. If only someone along the way had stopped and asked if putting all the birds into one giant box was actually a good idea...
