As previously discussed, we're considering renaming the Warpcast app to Farcaster.

Why?
- Top priority is grow users on the protocol
- The name split is extremely confusing for new users
- So, we want to simplify

How we're thinking about it
- Rename Warpcast mobile app
- warpcast.com to farcaster.xyz for web app
- Open source both apps
- No change protocol name, i.e. similar to Uniswap with app / protocol

What we’re doing
- Seeking input and want to make sure we understand concerns 
- Ultimately Varun and I will make a decision; it won’t be a vote.
- Expect a decision in the next week or so; if yes, we will give plenty of notice and will take time to do this correctly / cleanly.

How you can provide input
- Developers: please reply here or feel free to reach out to me via direct message whether you agree or disagree.
- Everyone else: you're free to offer input, but we will be weighting developer input a bit more since it has a bigger near-term impact on what they are building

My personal opinion: I'm very supportive of the name change from Warpcast to Farcaster as someone who spends a lot of time trying to onboard new devs + users to the ecosystem. Farcaster user growth is critical for devs building sustainable businesses and reducing onboarding friction / confusion helps a lot

I have already been calling it Farcaster to save time when referencing 😆 + more catchy

I only say Warpcast or use it at the very last second to get them on the actually app. 

Never before. Instant glaze over when make it confusing.

The name needs changed, however both options are poor.

And Warpcast is better than Farcaster!

It just seems like everyone reverts to calling it Farcaster.

Naming should never be the hurdle. One name, one narrative = easier growth

I agree, it makes no sense to use Fapps on Warpcast. Otherwise they'd be called Wapps

Fapps on Farcaster on the other hand...

Or stop being so Dev-centric

You need to make it 10x more simple for regular people, and you need to focus on them.

Also, you need to STOP celebrating shit like eggsdotfun or baseisforeveeyone.

@jessepollak and @farcasteradmin.eth are touted as these heroes when really, a majority of holders are fucking rekt.

People are goddamn pissed, and this is mostly a circle jerk of rich people wondering why no one else stays here.

It's because we keep getting fucked up the ass without any lube or the common courtesy of a reach around.

And if you don't like how regular people talk, or feel.

Nobody fucking cares.
