Of the 18 or so people at Merkle, I think I know where 3/18 went to college.

College is helpful for career if:

1. You major in something with hard skills
2. In the US, you got to a school that gives you an initial professional network

But after your first or second job, most places just care about what you've done at the previous job (or built on your own).

Red flag to me if someone is constantly bringing up where they went to school (unless maybe a recent grad or Waterloo :P)

I don’t even bring up that I studied in regular convos or most farcaster intros, but when giving intros especially in more formal business settings yes I’ll drop did a computer science degree at ETH Zurich as a side note of my intro.

For those who know they get it, if they don’t it was one sentence so no time taken.

For sure, I meant constantly bringing up. Like there are some people I know constantly letting me know they went to Harvard, Stanford, etc
