gotta put a lot of thought behind adding a new feature vs just blindly building features users ask for build something people want ≠ build something people want to use

True Community doesn't really understand what it takes to add a new feature from their request They simply make request upon request 😹 Dan said same thing days ago

A nice read but she doesn’t mention enshittification, Cory Doctorow’s term for when a company is successful enough to shift attention away from customers to itself. Pinterest became increasingly anti-web in its design choices. It frustrated expected behaviours to benefit its own monetisable behaviours. It lost me and my wife years ago.

Spot on 🎯 Products are meant to be easy and simple to use adding extra features based of demands of few customers would complicate the product and make it less user friendly for others, it’s always better to keep it simple and highly used than fancy and used by a few

Truly, these are part of the challenges faced by founders, how do you determine which feature request is “top priority” or not How do you determine which modification request is much suitable for the long term user experience or not ? This is actually interesting to know 🤔

Good early read, while user feedback is invaluable, it's crucial to balance those requests with the need to keep your product simple and focused. Saying "no" to some feature ideas is often the best way to deliver maximum value to the majority of your users.
