I don't know about the calendar, but instead of Notion I have my own instance of https://github.com/outline/outline for quite some time already

Fantastical is tried and true (I’m about to make the move back there from Notion Calendar) Amie is the up-and-comer, beautiful and well-built but tbd if they’ll deliver on their vision

cron got worse after the rebranding somehow 😭 i used to recommend it a lot. at one point i couldn’t update events within cron anymore and the notion documentation trying to gaslight me by saying it was never possible
