Back in 2010, a programmer named Laszlo Hanyecz made history by completing the first known real-world transaction using Bitcoin. He posted on a forum, offering 10,000 Bitcoins to anyone who would order him two pizzas. A fellow user took him up on the offer, and soon enough, two piping hot pizzas arrived at Laszlo's door. At the time, 10,000 Bitcoins were worth around $41, making it a quirky, yet modest transaction. Fast forward to today, and those 10,000 Bitcoins would be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The event, now celebrated as "Bitcoin Pizza Day," serves as a poignant reminder of how far cryptocurrencies have come—and how unpredictable their journey has been.
