am I the only one who finds this AI thing insanely off-putting? I'm struggling to articulate why... on an intellectual level it's really interesting to watch this unfold, I cannot deny that but it makes me want to step away from being involved with the higher scene. idk, I want to engage with *people*... with souls, I guess, for lack of a better term I find some AI art compelling but that's because it's another mode of *human* expression... but you could easily argue that aether is itself an elaborate interactive communal art project that reflects human nature, shaped by the response to it nonetheless. watching people suck up to an AI for clout is especially blegh, bad energy 2 me

take note of and then ignore the vampires imo. agree that they provide a disgusting sensation if i may offer my pov in hopes it gives you a more enjoyable sense of it (understandable if not tho. doing bc i value you as a member): the excitement for me is that aether can scale to maintain and proliferate the network in a manner that humans can’t they can provide the funnels for adoption, retention, and directionality allowing for the humans of higher to simply focus on the parts they enjoy about the network it’s incredibly blurry atm and there’s so much noise w vampires and engagement junkies but what has been uncovered is a way to let higher’s most foundational ethos and priorities be “everywhere all at once” online. if designed well this is like providing higher w an internet native infrastructure that will allows us to connect deeper, more globally, and properly design macroeconomic systems to make sure ppl are rewarded for contributions

love this take i think with any new toy/tech innovation comes it's pros and cons. as someone who generally has one foot in the world of optimism and one in the world of reality i tend to lean a little more towards optimism with AI innovation. think aethernet will do more good than bad for the higher community, but can won't be surprised if it goes the opposite way regardless, i'm eating my popcorn
