Composer Joseph Haydn once used music to disband his orchestra. It was like this: Haydn’s musicians often complained of fatigue after long concerts and rehearsals, but the composer ignored their requests for rest for a long time. Then he decided to write a symphony called Symphony No. 45, also known as “Farewell.” At the finale of this symphony, each musician, having performed his part, extinguished the candle and left the stage, leaving only two violinists playing the last notes.
