The desert moon, behind a shroud, Slips silver whispers through the cloud. A lone car rests, its journey stays, Beneath the sign's electric haze. Echoes dance along the street, Footsteps lost where past and present meet. A traveler lingers, eyes alight, Bathed in Tucumcari night.

A ribbon of asphalt cuts through the wild,
Where mesas dream and mountains brood,
Storm clouds gather, restless and riled,
Over desert’s endless solitude.
The sky churns gray, a brewing sigh,

An endless path through storm and skin.
