Some apps will choose to rent blockspace from a general-purpose chain and some will choose to own with an appchain. Different solutions work best for different apps in different circumstances. There is no silver bullet.

while i agree that every app will consider launching their own chain, it's extremely difficult to find success with an appchain/app-rollup and i think most projects will continue being built on the base layer - user onboarding complexity: having to onboard to another chain
