In 1999, Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the web, predicted that the Internet would become a platform for group collaboration and that computers would become more intertwined with people's daily lives. Steve Jobs also predicted in 2007, at the same time as the unveiling of the first iPhone, that smartphones would become the most important computing device for many people.
