A friend of mine suffered a catastrophic loss. His AppleID was hacked. 15+ years of artistic progress, notes, texts, personal photographs wiped out in front of his eyes His wallet was backed up to cloud too so his crypto is gone. This weekend please back your shit up to a hard drive. I don’t recommend backing your wallet up to any clouds. Do what works best This is so sad

this is awful! it's a good reminder for everyone, if you're a crypto believer, don't use Apple or iCloud period - apple is hostile to crypto, walled gardens are antithetical to our whole ethos, and keeping keys in icloud defeats the whole point of self custody. if you're doing this, take some time today to improve your opsec hygiene!
