Nice try but I still think it’s a horrible idea to open up meaningful communication pathways with animals and I stand by that

gonna be akward to explain, to any animal, that for ~5000 years we've made it criminal to kill humans, while we casually mutilate and extinctify other species for fun, boredom or profit. people joke now about "orcas fighting back" sinking yachts, but if animals learn even a lil history, race wars are prolly justified.

moreover, it seems cruel to introduce them to rules of a society they will have no say in, unless we plan on going all the way - that would mean including them in the economy, keeping them 80%+ employed, and charging them rent which also seems cruel
