Did you know that the strawberry is one of the not eco-friendly berries? In one study, traces of up to 22 different types of pesticides were found on strawberries at the same time! That’s why strawberries are one of the most “dirty” berries by the amount of pesticides. The thin skin absorbs chemicals that cannot be washed off with ordinary water. And pesticides are not just ‘mud. They can disrupt hormones, mimicking oestrogen, blocking the thyroid gland and affecting reproductive health. Soaking in water with soda or vinegar is not a reinsurance, but a basic concern.
