fwiw I have a different perspective - I think tokens can be a useful part of a broader governance system. things like futurarchy map out how this could work. optimism gov is probably closest thing to it. checks and balances can help amplify the strengths and minimize the risks.

I'll need to read about futurarchy! I don't know anything about it. I do agree tokens have a role in governance (liquid signaling is one option mentioned in the post). I just don't think that role is voting "yes" or "no" on proposals.
