Polymarket is proof that choice of chain matters very little in getting users and traction.

genuine q: how fool hearted is the desire to have liquidity across all evm compatible chains accessible from all evm chains?? is this just non-technical idealism?

agreed. but fwiw i still consider polygon as being ethereum aligned also are there any other onchain apps that come to mind or is this the first to break the chain chasm and find pmf?

interoperability is the goal, but as they say, the user doesn't care about your tech stack

They certainly managed to get to an important stage on Polygon. And I'm pretty sure Polygon would have been the safe choice in 2021-2023. But what if Polymarket could have 3x volumes on Base today and TAM for the next 6 months would be 10x in users, liquidity, traction? I believe apps should build a good product, pick a good chain to succeed, make it easy to deploy assets from anywhere - but being open to switch to another place is prob important (maybe not today, likely in the next year).

it turns out if you build something that people want the blockchain part mostly just gets in the way

Once there is full interoperability, chains will be like browsers
