Life lessons I've learned from chess.

I just started learning chess this year and realizing it's full of interesting lessons.

Here's my running list:

- have a plan for where you are going. Don’t simply react. When you think there are no moves, take a step back and look again at the bigger picture

- it’s better to retreat sometimes. If you do it, do it the whole way to give yourself enough room to maneuver for the future and not have to take another step back because you didn’t retreat enough

This is a point I’ve always used. In strategy is ok to move side ways and back in order to ultimately move forward .. as the saying goes; some people play chess while others play checkers
